Luís Miguel Assunção Joaquim, aka Alhandra (born 5 March 1979 in Vila Franca de Xira, Lisbon), is a Portuguese footballer who plays for Grupo Desportivo e Recreativo Monsanto mainly as a left defender - he can also appear as a midfielder.

Football career

An unsuccessful graduate of Sporting Clube de Portugal's youth ranks, Alhandra started professionally with its feeder club, Sporting Clube Lourinhanense. After a brief spell with F.C. Porto's B-club, he lived his most steady period with União de Leiria, helping the side to participations in the UEFA Intertoto Cup, and being regularly used over the course of six top division seasons (a maximum of 30 league games in 2005–06 and a minimum of 16 in 2007–08, with the latter campaign ending in relegation).

On 2 April 2008, he signed a two-year contract with Enosis Neon Paralimni FC, transferring to the Cypriot club and joining the massive Portuguese contigent in that country. After one sole season, he returned to Portugal, joining second level team Gil Vicente FC, and being released at the end of the season.

Alhandra resumed his career in the lower leagues of his country.
